マニラにおあるルソン島の南、フィリピン最西端に位置するパラワン島から南東約１８０キロに位置する環礁トゥバタハリーフは貴重なサンゴが群生する海域として 1993年世界遺産に登録されました。季節風の影響でここに行けるのは３月中旬から ６月中旬まで約4ヶ月間だけです。回遊魚が豊富で特に人気の高いエリアです。

リゾートから距離もあるのでクルーズ船でパラワン島のプエルトプリンセサからかルソン島南部のブスアンガからのアプローチのみとなります。

Tubbataha Reef, located 180 km southeast of Palawan Island, the westernmost island of the Philippines, south of Luzon Island in Manila, was registered as a World Heritage site in 1993 as a site of precious coral reefs. Due to monsoon conditions, the reef is accessible only from mid-March to mid-June, a period of about four months. The area is especially popular because of the abundance of migratory fish. Because of the distance from the resort, it can only be approached by live-aboard from Puerto Princesa on Palawan Island or from Busuanga in the southern part of Luzon Island.
